If you find yourself in Oslo, Norway on a Sunday and you’re looking for somewhere interesting to wander, consider the Blå Sunday Market in the Grünerløkka neighborhood. It’s not terribly easy to find, so get your maps in order beforehand, and don’t count on asking a local where to find it (the ones we talked to had never heard of it).
But once you find it, you’ll be enchanted by the little explosion of color and fun hippie vibes in this tiny pocket of the city.
It seemed mostly quiet on the streets of Oslo on the Sunday we were there, but in this little market, there were tons of people enjoying their weekend.
The market has street food:
There is clothing to buy:
Craftsmen also sell their wares:
And there is amazing street art galore:
The style of this little area is quite charming.
It’s definitely worth a leisurely visit if you are nearby. For any fan of street markets, it’s a no-brainer!
